The Dunn, North Carolina Police Athletic League launched an amateur wrestling team for any kids willing to show up, practice and compete. It’s been a success due to an officer and former high school wrestler who works, off-duty, bring these kids closer to the police team that protects them. I read about this story in Dunn Daily Record newspaper and immediately jumped on it for a TV story. When it comes to “people stories,” this one exhibits what works in this world of ours.

This story inspired this viewer to ponder additional ways to connect and contribute and makes me miss the home state of my birth.
There are many ways to contribute talents. It’s interesting when a sport not normally associated w/ North Carolina is driving a positive movement.
